How to install google chrome on Lubuntu 15.04


Lubuntu 15.04 comes with firefox as the default web browser, but if you prefer using google chrome you can install google chrome on lubuntu 15.04.

In this article i will show you how to install google chrome web browser on lubuntu 15.04 vivid vervet.

Step by step how to install google chrome on lubuntu 15.04
  • go to google chrome download page
  • click the download button, choose 32 bit .deb if you are using 32 bit lubuntu and choose 64 bit .deb if you are using 64 bit lubuntu. To check your lubuntu installation is 32 or 64 bit, read this tutorial.
  • open terminal, go to where the debian package located and then type this: 
  • chmod +rx google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb
  • okay now we are ready to install the google chrome itself, type this command:
    1. sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb
    Besides using command line like that you can also install google chrome through GDebi package installer.

    When you click the download button, you will see two options one of them is "open with GDebi package installer", like this:
